Days Of Wine and Roses – Tron Theatre – Theatre Jezebel

Below are details from the Tron Theatre’s website…

presented by TRON THEATRE COMPANY + THEATRE JEZEBEL

a new version by OWEN McCAFFERTY
designed and directed by Kenny Miller

with Keith Fleming + Sally Reid

Donal and Mona leave Belfast for a new start in ’60s London. Strangers in an unfamiliar city, they fall in love with life, each other and the drink. An exciting whirlwind of discovery startes to spiral out of control as alcohol takes its grip.

‘We were like movie stars – I used to imagine we didn’t walk, we glided – now all we do is stumble – it wasn’t meant to be like this’.

Theatre Jezeble brings its third production ot the Tron following on from its succes with Neil LaBute’s Autobahn and John Patrick Shanle’s Doubt. This adaptation by Owen McCafferty of Days of Wine and Roses was first produced at the Donmar Warehouse to critical acclaim in 2005. JP Miller’s version was famously filmed in 1962 with Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick in the main roles.

‘a classy production worthy of repeat viewing’ ***** THE HERALD on Autobahn

‘all three leading characters are brilliantly played…Keith Fleming superbly ambiguous as Father Flynn, and Sally Reid heartrending as the naive and idealistic young Sister James’. **** THE SCOTSMAN on Doubt ”

My Romantic History – Tron Theatre – Borderline Theatre Company

Last week i was at the Tron Theatre to photograph Borderline Theatre Company’s new play, My Romantic History.

Details below are taken from the Tron Theatre’s website.

” presented by BORDERLINE THEATRE COMPANY

    By D.C. Jackson

    Directed by Jemima Levick

‘If you haven’t met someone by the time you graduate, you’re going to marry someone from your work. It’s that simple. Do you know how they get animals to breed in captivity? They put them in the same cage.”
Tom’s been head-hunted for a new job. He owns three suits and a modest amount of kitchen equipment. Amy’s got a career, a Fiat Punto and a flat full of stuff. To all intents and purposes she’s a fully-functioning grown up

When Tom and Amy get together after a boozy office party, it seems like they might be able to make a go of it. But soon the ghosts of relationships past begin to interfere with the here and now.

First produced by The Bush Theatre London and Sheffield Theatres in association with Birmingham Rep, My Romantic History premiered at the 2010 Edinburgh Fringe Festival where it won a Scotsman Fringe First Award “

Casablanca : The Gin Joint Cut – Promotional Trailer

Details below taken from The Tron Theatre’s website

    Presented by TRON THEATRE COMPANY

WRITTEN + DIRECTED BY MORAG FULLARTON
    DESIGNED BY KENNY MILLER

WITH GAVIN MITCHELL, CLARE WAUGH + JIMMY CHISHOLM

Casablanca: The Gin Joint Cut is a lovingly disrespectful homage to one of the classic films of all time. First performed last year to sell-out audiences at Oran Mor, a superb multi-tasking cast whisk you back to Morocco 1941, a Nazi-infested hotbed of corruption, teeming with refugees and all the flotsam and jetsam of war-torn Europe. Cut to Rick’s bar where the emigres gather, desperate to get hold of the all elusive exit visa, when who should walk in but the beautiful Ilsa, Rick’s long lost love….

Casablanca has some of the most iconic scenes and best lines ever written, so why not play it again? But this time in a tiny gin joint, with three actors. Morag Fullarton’s fast-paced distillation will have you raise a Bogart-style eyebrow, shed a Bergman-like tear and drown out the Nazis with a rousing chorus of the Marseillaise.

Excerpts from Casablanca granted courtesy of Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.

    Shot and edited by myself.
