    Barcelona – August 2011 – Part 3

Part 3 from our trip to Barcelona has some of my favourite images.
All the images below are really in no particular order.

If im being honest i really want to go back but that happens all the time when returning from a great trip. I felt the same last year when i came back from our trip through Asia

I think even more so today because the weather is so bad right now. It hasnt stopped raining all day.

To see parts 1 and 2 of our trip see the links below.
    Part 1
    Part 2

    undefinedundefined

All the way down La Rambla you see folk dressed up with various costumes. This one was pretty good.

    undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

Would have looked even better if not for 20 cranes and a ton of scafolding. The thing was massive though with stunning detail all around.

    undefined

and a slightly smaller one. Still with cranes though

    undefined

Being that Barcelona isnt really known for beaches than other parts of Spain, it was still a really good one and went on for a few miles.

    undefined

The harbour was pretty impressive too.

    undefined

    awwwwwww

    undefined

Another guy dressed up on La Rambla.

    undefined

That wee church you see way in the distance at the top of the mountain is this one:)  Here.

    undefined

The guy just stood still until someone put some euros in his tin. Pretty impressive though, especially in that heat

    undefined

This structure is part of the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys ( The Olympic stadium for the 1992 Olympics )

    undefinedundefined

One of the markets. See a few images down for some of the stuff they sell :)

    undefined

    This guy actually looks raging.

    undefined

The actual detail that went into these building are staggering.

    undefined

We found the name of this shop quite funny, even more so in that most of their bottles of water etc were MORE expensive than any other shop.

    undefinedundefined

    stunning.

    undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

    Detail, detail, detail

    undefinedundefined

I so wanted to buy this.

    undefinedundefined

This is were they film Eastenders :)  RIIIICKKKKYYYY.

    undefined

Now this guy here makes a fortune. He hides a small ballbearing thing under one of these 3 things and moves them around really fast and takes bets on were it is. I saw some folk putting down 50 Euros, and losing. Mental.

    undefinedundefined

    The market.

    undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

    What even is that?

    undefined

    Is that a dinosaur head?

    undefined

Jacqui with the map. I think i got about 20 photos of her with this. Quite funny really.:)

    undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

    Hilarious.

    undefinedundefinedundefined

I love getting shots of the locals just sitting relaxing.

    undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

We must have went about 20 miles on these bikes, maybe more. It was brilliant.

    undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

No need for ships that size. Would still love to be on one though.

    undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

    The Olympic stadium

    undefinedundefined

Our last night. Just back from a “all you can eat” sushi bar. I was in heaven.

    Barcelona – August 2011 – Part 2

First up was our trip to Montserrat via cable car. For anyone afraid of heights, the cable car would have been pretty frightening. Some stunning views yet again.

The chocolate museum was another place we went to. It was ok but for some reason i expected the whole place to be chocolate, doors, walls, chairs etc etc:)Kind of like they ice bars you go into and the whole bar is made of ice.
Anyways, i was still pretty good to see all this stuff made out of chocolate.

To view parts 1 and 3 see here.

    Part 3

    undefined

Biggest waste of 1 Euro ever, you couldnt even focus on anything with this telescope

    undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

The mountain has quite a religious background.

    undefined

A view from the cable car on the way up.

    undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

The little yellow dot off centre to the right is the cable car. Gives a sense of scale to the size of this place

    Barcelona – August 2011 – Part 1

I took so many images on holiday ive decided to split my images into 3 parts :)
First part is our visit to Camp Nou and then Tibidabo, which is a mountain overlooking Barcelona. Some amazing views up there, as well as an amusement park. Unfortunetly, ALOT of the rides were off that day for some strange reason.

Second part of the blog post will be our visit to Montserrat, with more spectacular views. Then to the chocolate museum
    .

Third part has a few of my favourite images from our holiday. Not so much daytrips like the other 2 posts, but rather a bunch of images i took through the whole week. I’ll update this post with links to each post when i post them.:)

To view parts 2 and 3 see the links below.

    woohhooo

    Happy as Larry

    undefined

    As was Jacqui

    undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

    Stunning

    undefinedundefinedundefined

    Xavi taking a corner

    undefined

    Messi celebrating his goal

    undefinedundefined

Yet another Messi goal ( that doesnt sound right )

    undefinedundefined

On our way to Tibidabo by tram

    undefinedundefinedundefined

Some great views but jacqui was gutted all the rides were closed

    undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

    Barcelona through an iPhone

As if i didnt get enough images with my Canon 5D i had to get some using my iPhone and Instagram app.:)

Our first drink and Jacqui doing her best tourist impression

    undefined

    undefined

An actual guy in an alien outfit on La Rambla and an Elvis statue that i would have loved to have bought.

    undefined

One of the highlights of the trip was getting to watch Barcelona at Camp Nou. Look at my wee face, a kid at christmas.

    undefined

Dont let these signs put you off Barcelona. I think this was a bit of a joke  ( i hope )

    undefined

    Our trip to Montserrat. Amazing.
