Tuol Sleng Former Office S.21 – Genocide Museum

On our travels through Asia we visited the Tuol Sleng.
I was in two minds on whether to post these or not but this is part of the Cambodian history and as much as some of the areas are pretty brutal, i feel more folk need to know about this.

The Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum is a museum in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. The site is a former high school which was used as the notorious Security Prison 21 (S-21) by the Khmer Rouge communist regime from its rise to power in 1975 to its fall in 1979. Tuol Sleng (Khmer) means “Hill of the Poisonous Trees” or “Strychnine Hill”.
From 1975 to 1979, an estimated 17,000 people were imprisoned at Tuol Sleng (some estimates suggest a number as high as 20,000, although the real number is unknown). At any one time, the prison held between 1,000–1,500 prisoners. They were repeatedly tortured and coerced into naming family members and close associates, who were in turn arrested, tortured and killed.

Its pretty harrowing stuff but something that you have to visit when visiting Cambodia in my view.
Below is a few images that i took on a visit.

Wedding Slideshow – Karen & Neale – Strathblane Country House Hotel

I thought id post up the slideshow from Neale & Karen’s wedding as ive had a few folk asking to see it.
Something ive wanted to do more of during a given wedding is add some video to the day. I need to come up with a system that allows for this whilst still catching the important images throughout the day. Ive added a little video footage to this along with the stills and hopefully the more i do it the more i can incorporate this into my future wedding work. :)

Full post of images here.

To watch the video simply click on the play button. If your computer is fast enough and you have a fast internet connection then full screen with HD enabled for optimal quality. Otherwise disable HD on the video.
These options are on the video below.
Please also give it a little time to load.

The ancient temples of Cambodia

Its safe to say i was pretty excited at visiting the Angkor Wat temples on our recent trip to Asia

For anyone who doesnt really know much about the temples, id suggest you take a wee look here. Click
We only spent 3 days visiting the temples but believe me, you could easily spend a week there and still not cover all the ground.

I also recieved an email today from a charity organisation asking if i would kindly donate a few signed prints that would then get auctioned off to help families and children across Cambodia.
More on that in the next few days.

On with the images…..
